An expensive shopping district, located South of Houston Street. Once host to light industry and pioneering artists, this neighborhood is now a glorified strip mall with expensive restaurants. Many new students visit this neighborhood harboring the illusion that they are seeing the "real" city. Despite this, the intricate cast iron facades of the buildings along Broadway are definitely worth a look.
