Wrestling Team
The Wrestling Team at Columbia is the oldest intercollegiate wrestling program in the nation. In typical Columbia fashion, the school was oblivious to this fact until the 1990s when a wrestling historian informed the coach.
History
On March 31, 1903, Columbia and Yale took part in the first intercollegiate meet as an opening act for a basketball game. With the exception of 1904, Columbia has fielded a wrestling team every year since.
Alumni
Prominent members include George Stephanopoulos, who wrestled for the team in the early 1980s.
