The Wrestling Team at Columbia is the nation's oldest such team. In typical Columbia fashion, the school was oblivious to this fact until the 1990s when a wrestling historian informed the coach.

On March 31, 1903, Columbia and Yale took part in the first intercollegiate meet as an opening act for a basketball game. With the exception of 1904, Columbia has fielded a wrestling team every year since.

Prominent members include George Stephanopoulos, who wrestled for the team in the early 1980s.
