The Postcrypt Coffeehouse is a concert venue in the basement of St. Paul's Chapel. Established in 1964 by then-assistant chaplain John Cannon, it features live acoustic music from professionals, amateurs, and students every Friday and Saturday night throughout the academic year from 9pm until midnight. Admission is free.
Over the years, Postcrypt has featured now prominent musicians including Jeff Buckley, Ani DiFranco, and Dar Williams.
Administration Crackdown
After an anonymous sarcastic Bwog comment suggesting that alcohol was served to minors at Postcrypt came to the attention of the administration, they did what they usually do and promptly attempted to snuff the life out of a treasured Columbia tradition that most of them probably had no idea even existed without bothering to look into the facts.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
